About the Derwent
The Derwent is the bed Peter would make for himself.
Solid European oak. The same oak as the Harbottle, but the Derwent is the substantial version: larger headboard, thicker slab, chunkier frame. A bed with presence.
Made to order, the same way Peter has made beds since he was a boy. Mortise and tenon, finished by hand.

What mattress should I use?
The Derwent's heavier frame works best with a pocket-sprung mattress of equal substance. We recommend Naturalmat or Hypnos for the longevity to match the bed.
