Choosing a mattress.

We don't sell mattresses ourselves. The bed is what we make, and it's what we want to keep being good at.

That said, the bed is only half the picture. A solid wood frame deserves a mattress that lasts as long. So we're happy to point you at brands we trust.

Our beds are built to standard UK mattress sizes (Single through Super King). See the size guide on any bed page for dimensions.

Brands we recommend

Naturalmat

Organic, UK-made, and our top recommendation. Coir, wool, and natural latex with optional pocket springs. Built to last and to breathe.

Hypnos

UK-made, mid-premium, and a broad range. Their pocket-sprung mattresses match the longevity of a solid wood bed.

Mattress care

· Rotate every three months for the first year, then every six.
· Lifespan is typically 7 to 10 years, less than the bed underneath it.
· Use a mattress protector. It protects the mattress and the warranty.
